What is more sustainable than a tree?

The life span and size of trees exceed by far those of most other living creatures on earth. Did you know that several tree species can live for hundreds of years?

Trees are planted in gardens, cities or landscapes and perform several functions. More than you might initially think! However, they are sometimes put into stressful situations, often caused by human interventions. As a consequence their condition declines. They don’t grow as expected and look less good than the neighbouring plants. Although people are usually not aware of it, this reaction is often due to a problem below the surface.

It is proven that an optimally functioning root system is the only guarantee to counter stress factors under and above the ground. The roots are the veins of a tree. To obtain an optimal condition, it is therefore very important that the roots can develop in ideal circumstances and that their functioning can continue or is even improved. Only then, a tree can fully display its vitality.

Advantages of aeration

A hollow pin of 1,5 m with a conical top is gradually pushed into the soil. An ‘oxygen injection’ can be given at any desired depth in the active root zone. In addition to the vertical channels made by the pin, horizontal channels will appear in the soil as a result of the aeration.

Advantages of feeding by injection

To stimulate plant growth and soil life, the pin can equally inject mildly acting organic fertilisers in MINIGRAN® TECHNOLOGY as well as other products, depending on the given problem Thanks to an accurate measuring system, the precise dose of the appropriate product is immediately injected into the root zone where it is spread out evenly. In addition, soil aeration (= injection of O2) will activate the roots improving nutrient uptake and thus activating root growth.

DCM organic fertilisers consist of a wide variety of organic nutrients and have a long-lasting effect during 75 to 100 days. Trees will evenly and continuously receive all the essential nutrients, which results in a compact but continuous growth and a nice leaf colour. Moreover, DCM fertilisers stimulate the existing microbial life in the soil. The unique effect of the organic phosphorus sources promotes root growth, which leads to stronger plants.

Thanks to MINIGRAN® TECHNOLOGY, DCM fertilisers are available in homogeneously composed micro granules, free from fractured surfaces. Because of their small dimensions (micro granules with dimensions between 800 and 2500 micron, of which at least 80% between 1000 and 2000 micron), the MINIGRAN® granules can be injected directly into the root zone providing a more efficient fertilization.
